DAC Engineered Products is currently seeking a Design & Certification Engineer to join our growing team. The Design & Certification Engineer is responsible for the design, qualification, and certification of aerospace brakes & brake components that include both metallic and non-metallic based materials. Responsibilities will include reverse engineering OEM parts, understanding all the dimensional & material properties, creating DAC drawings & CAD models, conduct detailed understanding the performance requirements of the subject component, identifying methods of conducting qualification testing, conducting the tests, and documentation of test results and certification reports. The Engineer will also work to understand and resolve any in-service issues that arise.

Salary Range: $95,000 to $150,000
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design responsibility at all stages of the design process from preliminary design, detailed design, manufacturing, development testing, and qualification testing until certification and product introduction.
- Utilize SolidWorks CAD software to create solid models and detailed manufacturing drawings of the product.
- Deliver high quality technical data packages based on detailed dimensional and materials analyses.
- Ensure the product design is complete in terms of regulatory and customer requirements.
- Ensure adherence to the design process while meeting schedule requirements.
- Be involved in problem solving activities throughout the manufacturing, qualification and ‘in service’ phases of a project.
- Project management of all test assets/facilities/purchase orders to ensure on-schedule completion of key milestones.
- On-site test oversight for both ground-based brake testing & flight testing. Moderate US domestic & some international travel will be required.
- Develop test plans for all qualification testing required and oversee the testing.
- Collaborate with sales, and potentially customers to understand their needs to develop value-added solutions.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering required.
- 3+ years of Aerospace engineering experience preferred.
- Experience/knowledge of electro-mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Understand basic principles of reverse-engineering parts and systems.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards, measurement practices and tools, manufacturing techniques, and various material properties.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency with technical writing skills
