What You'll Do

You’ll work on a wide range of vehicles and systems, including Class 6, 7, 8 & 9 trucks, school buses, and passenger buses across brands like Cummins, International, IC Bus, Fleetrite, and others.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing work orders, assessing vehicle needs & planning repairs
  • Running diagnostic tests & interpreting results
  • Inspecting systems including electrical, suspensions & steering
  • Repairing or replacing transmissions, brakes, engines & related components
  • Performing alignments, oil changes, wheel balancing & brake checks
  • Test-driving repaired vehicles to verify performance
  • Maintaining accurate documentation (the 3 Cs: Complaint, Cause, Correction)
  • Communicating additional needed repairs to the service consultant
  • Keeping workspaces clean, safe, & organized
  • Following OEM procedures & warranty documentation requirements
  • Updating repair advocates, case files, and supervisors through your shift
  • Completing OEM training & ongoing technical education

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience with diesel engines (Cummins, Detroit & CAT a plus)
  • ASE certifications & OEM training a plus (training provided)
  • A roll cart & tools recommended
  • Strong communication & teamwork mindset
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL
  • Ability to pass a background check, MVR, drug screen, and preemployment testing

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, bend, climb, crawl, lift (up to 75 lbs), & work in various temperatures
