This position is responsible for designing and creating a fun, engaging, and creative Life Enrichment program that keep residents interested in the activities and programs designed for them and gives them the opportunity to become active in their community.
Reporting Relationships
• This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
• There are no direct reports to this position.
Requirements
• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required
• Experience:
o A minimum of two years of experience within a senior living community is required. o Previous experience as a Activity/Lifestyle Director is preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
o AHA CPR Certification is required (within 60 days of hire)
o First Aid Training is required (within 60 days of hire)
• Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Ability to work well unsupervised
o Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
o Ability to socially interact and perform under pressure.
o Flexibility in scheduling is required; weekend availability.
o Ability to maintain positive and professional interactions with residents and families at all times.
o Experience with Microsoft Programs and/or other applicable software programs and basic computer skills.
Work Environment

o Must be able to push, pull, adjust, maneuver, etc. wheelchairs with residents aboard. o Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment. Ability to assist, push, pull, etc. a resident of 250 pounds or more.
• Body Senses:
o Must have correctable vision that permits the reading of equipment, medications, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
o Must be able to hear sufficiently to obtain information provided by residents, family members, bystanders, medical professionals and emergency personnel; adequate hearing necessary to provide.
o Must be able to speak and enunciate clearly at a level audible to others in loud conditions. Must be able to verbally communicate in all environments with residents, family members, medical professionals, emergency personnel, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Design a creative and exciting life enrichment program to meet the individual needs and interest of the community.
• Plan monthly life enrichment calendar.
• Participate in the review of service plans and regularly document life enrichment progress. Participate in discharge planning with other members of the management team. • Assist in planning and carrying out fun and engaging events for both residents and marketing events; collaborating with the rest of the team.
• Plan and conduct outings with residents.
• Attend weekly Leadership meetings.
• Monitor Life Enrichment budgets, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide guidance and act as a resource to staff on the importance of life enrichment and other areas regarding the quality of life for residents.
• Ensure that Life Enrichment Programs meet all state, federal, and local regulations. • Coordinate quarterly special events at the community. Develop and maintain contact with community agencies and organizations.
• Train, supervise, and coordinate volunteers.
• Comply with Residents’ Rights policy and Community and Employee Policies and Procedures. • Other duties as assigned.
