Morning Bistro Associate - F&B

Job Title: Bistro Associate
Location: Courtyard by Marriott – Newark-Granville, OH
Reports To: General Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Bistro Associate is a key member of our Courtyard by Marriott team, responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and attentive service to guests in the Bistro restaurant and bar. We are looking for a full-time attendant during our morning shift with weekend availability, as needed. This role involves preparing and serving Starbucks® beverages, made-to-order food items, while ensuring a welcoming and upbeat dining experience that reflects the Marriott service culture. 

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide outstanding service professionally and engagingly.

• Take guest orders, process transactions accurately, and deliver food and beverages promptly.

• Prepare Starbucks® specialty drinks and ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met.

• Follow all food and beverage preparation procedures to maintain cleanliness and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up, restocking, and cleaning work areas.

• Operate the point-of-sale system, handle cash/credit transactions, and balance cash drawers as needed.

• Uphold Courtyard by Marriott and brand standards for guest satisfaction, food quality, and service excellence.

• Work collaboratively with fellow associates to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or food & beverage experience preferred, but not required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age 21 to serve alcohol.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first attitude.

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Food Handler’s Permit and/or Alcohol Server’s Permit if available. Can be obtained through classes we will have provided. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. as needed.

• Move safely and quickly in a food service environment.
