Position Summary

Courtesy Nissan is seeking an experienced and motivated Detail Department Manager to lead our vehicle detailing team. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dealership's detailing operations, ensuring vehicles are cleaned, prepared, and delivered to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage workflow in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Management experience is required. Automotive dealership experience is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, train, and develop the detail department staff.
  • Schedule and assign work to ensure efficient vehicle processing and timely delivery.
  • Monitor quality standards to ensure all new, used, and customer vehicles meet dealership expectations.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Service, and Parts departments to prioritize vehicle preparation needs.
  • Maintain department productivity and meet established turnaround time goals.
  • Conduct regular inspections of completed vehicles and address any quality concerns.
  • Hire, coach, discipline, and evaluate detail department employees.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order detailing supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Assist with detailing operations as needed to support department goals.

Qualifications

Required

  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to drive and operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

Preferred

  • Previous automotive dealership experience.
  • Detail department management experience.
  • Knowledge of automotive reconditioning processes and best practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely operate dealership vehicles and detailing equipment.
