Welder

Position Summary

Freedom Waterworks is seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Welder to join our fabrication team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin or grow their career in welding within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Entry-Level Welder will assist with basic welding, material preparation, and general shop duties while learning industry standards and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic welding tasks (MIG, stick, or TIG) under supervision
• Prepare materials for welding (cutting, grinding, cleaning)
• Read and interpret simple drawings and measurements
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
• Support fabrication of ductile iron, steel, and piping components
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE requirements
• Assist senior welders and supervisors with daily production tasks

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of welding or fabrication experience (or technical school training preferred)
• Basic understanding of welding techniques and tools
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, heat exposure)

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certification (or currently pursuing)
• Experience in a fabrication shop or industrial setting
• Familiarity with ductile iron, carbon steel, or pipe systems

Work Environment

• Industrial fabrication shop and yard environment
• Exposure to heat, noise, and heavy equipment
• PPE required at all times (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
