Job Title: Design & Sales Manager - Cabinet Manufacturing
Job Summary:
The Design & Sales Manager for our Cabinet Manufacturing company is responsible for generating sales and driving revenue growth by connecting with new and existing clients, primarily in the residential, commercial, and builder markets. This role involves understanding customer needs, presenting custom cabinet solutions, and fostering strong, long-term relationships with clients. The ideal candidate has a strong background in sales, ideally in cabinetry, woodworking, or home improvement sectors, and is highly skilled at meeting targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Client Acquisition
- Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities through cold calls, lead generation, networking, bidding and referrals.
- Meet or exceed sales targets by building strong client relationships and closing deals with high conversion rates.
- Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their cabinetry needs and present tailored solutions.
- Conduct site visits to take and verify measurements.
- Establish project budgets and schedule.
- Product Knowledge & Presentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our product line, manufacturing processes, and competitive advantages.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations, showcasing our craftsmanship, quality, and customization options.
- Educate clients on product features, material options, design trends, and benefits of working with our company.
- Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with both new and repeat customers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales and installation process, ensuring a positive experience and promptly addressing concerns.
- Collaborate with the design, production, and installation teams to manage client expectations and deliver projects on time.
- Market & Industry Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and competitive products.
- Provide feedback to management regarding customer preferences, potential new markets, and product improvement opportunities.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system.
- Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly sales reports, including metrics on lead generation, customer interactions, and revenue performance.
- Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor office staff, including administrative, project management, sales support, and drafting.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment while ensuring team alignment with business goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
- Financial Oversight
- Manage budgets, track expenses including change orders, and ensure cost-effective practices.
- Review financial reports, analyze data, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Business Operations
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency in order processing, scheduling, and interdepartmental communication.
- Provide design and project management support.
- Work with Shop Managers to order supplies and hardware.
- Develop and implement systems to improve workflow and reduce inefficiencies.
- Monitor and manage operational metrics to ensure the business meets performance targets.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in cabinetry, home improvement, or construction materials.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and convey technical information related to cabinetry design and manufacturing.
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to managing multiple client relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license for travel to client locations and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in interior design, woodworking, or a related field.
- Experience working with contractors, builders, or interior designers.
- Familiarity with Sketchup, CAD software or design tools.
Work Environment:
This role may require travel to customer sites, showrooms, and industry events, as well as occasional weekend availability. A typical work week includes a mix of in-office tasks, client site visits, and travel within the designated territory.
