Job Overview:
The Car Buyer will play a vital role in expanding our pre-owned inventory by identifying and contacting private sellers of vehicles through various online platforms. Working in our Business Development Center (BDC), the Car Buyer will research listings, reach out to sellers via phone, gather information, and refer promising leads to our Used Car Manager to complete the transaction. This role does not require prior automotive experience, but phone experience is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Identify Vehicles: Conduct daily searches on websites, social media, and other online platforms to find vehicles for sale by private owners.
- Contact & Engage Sellers: Call potential sellers to gather details on vehicles, assess suitability, and introduce Chuck Nash’s interest in purchasing.
- Qualify Leads: Document all relevant information and qualify the lead before referring it to the Used Car Manager for further discussion and potential purchase.
- Maintain Records: Track and document all potential leads, contacts, and outcomes in our system, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for reporting.
- Collaborate with Sales Team: Work in alignment with the used car management team to support dealership goals and meet pre-owned inventory needs.
Qualifications:
- Phone Experience Required: Must have prior experience in a role requiring significant phone interaction, such as sales, customer service, or telemarketing.
- Strong Communication Skills: Confident, professional, and persuasive over the phone; able to engage with sellers and build rapport.
- Research Skills: Comfortable using the internet and various online platforms to locate information and identify potential purchase opportunities.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to accurately document conversations, vehicle details, and transaction notes.
- Organized & Self-Motivated: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize leads, and meet acquisition goals.
- No Automotive Experience Necessary: While auto experience is a plus, it is not required for this position. Training will be provided.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM or lead management systems and basic computer skills are a plus.

- Pay Structure: Base pay plus commission.
