Used Car Technician

Location: Oakes GMC | Kansas City, MO
Schedule: Full Time
Compensation: $23.00 - $55.00 Flat Rate based off experience

We’re looking for a Used Car Technician who can move quickly, work efficiently, and take pride in getting vehicles frontline-ready the right way. This role focuses on inspections, light repairs, and recon work to keep inventory turning. What You’ll Do

• Perform full used car inspections (UCI), including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and drivability

• Complete basic maintenance such as oil changes, fluid services, filters, batteries, brakes, and tires

• Handle light mechanical and recon repairs to prepare vehicles for the lot quickly and correctly

• Document findings, flag hours accurately, and communicate with advisors and managers on needed repairs

• Ensure vehicles are fully frontline-ready, including final road tests and quality checks

What We’re Looking For

Fast, detail-oriented technician who takes ownership of their work and understands the importance of speed and accuracy in a recon environment. Someone who can stay organized, work independently, and keep vehicles moving without sacrificing quality.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean or acceptable driving record

• Ability to pass a standard background check

• Strong reliability and consistent attendance

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems
  2+ years of automotive technician experience (lube, line, or recon)

• Experience with inspections, basic diagnostics, and light mechanical work

• Own basic set of tools
