About the Role
 
Cactus Jack’s Auto is seeking motivated, experienced, and career-driven technicians to join our fast-paced Automotive Reconditioning Center. We are rapidly expanding our network and need dedicated individuals across all skill levels to prepare our vehicles for the road under the highest standards of safety and quality. From inspecting and updating fresh inventory to performing heavy line repairs, you will play a critical role in keeping our sales lots stocked with reliable inventory.
 

 
Tier Breakdown & Requirements
 
1. Tire & Lube Technician (Entry-Level)
 
  • Role Focus: High-turnover vehicle inspection, basic fluid services, and tire maintenance.
  • Key Duties: Inspect, mount, and balance tires; change oil and filters; perform safety inspections to ensure vehicles meet sales-lot readiness standards.
  • Tool Requirement: Must own a foundational set of personal tools (such as impact sockets, basic wrenches, and a digital tire pressure gauge) suitable for quick-lane automotive service.
  • Experience: 6months –1 years of express lane or shop experience; physical stamina to stand for long periods and work safely in Arizona’s summer heat; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
 
2. Level B Automotive Technician (Mid-Level)
 
  • Role Focus: General system diagnostics, mechanical troubleshooting, and routine part replacements.
  • Key Duties: Diagnose and repair brakes, suspension systems, steering, air conditioning (A/C) recharges, electrical components, and standard bolt-on replacements.
  • Tool Requirement: Must own a professional set of automotive tools and an organized rolling toolbox/cart capable of handling comprehensive, mid-level mechanical repairs.
  • Experience: 1.5 –3 years of professional automotive repair experience; solid baseline knowledge of computerized vehicle scanning and tracking.
 
3. Level A / Heavy Line Automotive Technician (Advanced)
 
  • Role Focus: Advanced diagnostics, heavy line work, engine builds, and complex troubleshooting.
  • Key Duties: Lead complex engine repair, total engine rebuilds, transmission replacements, and master-level diagnostic troubleshooting across a highly diverse fleet of imports and domestic vehicles.
  • Tool Requirement: Must own a comprehensive, master-level professional set of automotive tools and diagnostics equipment necessary to independently execute heavy line engine and transmission work.
  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience specializing in heavy line engine builds and complex automotive diagnostics.

 


 
General Qualifications (All Tiers)
 
  • Tool Ownership: Mandatory ownership of personal tools appropriate for your applied level.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Required).
  • Strong attention to detail, a high sense of urgency, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to safely commute to our Phoenix facility (85015 / 85053 area).
  • Strong work ethic with a desire for stability and long-term career growth.

Preferred

  • ASE certification or equivalent automotive technician training in a shop or dealership setting
