By The Hand is a not for profit, religious organization. Individuals employed by By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching.
Pay Rate: $50,000
Overview of Position
The Programming Operations Specialist will report to the Vice President of Programming Operations. He/She will execute a variety of administrative and event-planning tasks that support the effectiveness of day-to-day programming. This role requires a self-motivated and focused leader with significant programming, accounting, or administration experience. The major areas of responsibility are managing administrative duties for our meals program, transportation, and school bus service. Also, helping with ordering and setting up food for monthly staff meetings, Friday choir practices, and other events throughout the year.

Role Responsibilities

Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.

Models the cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.

Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including training and maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.

Works with staff and leadership to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further the BTH religious purpose and religious freedom..

Manages our meal program by weekly kitchen checks, trains new staff on meal protocols, quarterly food audits, and approves monthly meal counts and invoices.

Schedules buses for programming and trips, which also includes approving transportation invoices.

Responsible for managing the transportation and catering budget.

Orders and helps set up food for all staff meetings, training sessions, and program events, such as etiquette classes and choir practices.

Assist VP of Operations with event planning, such as the all-staff meetings, Spring Benefits, Boxes of Love, Christmas in the City, reading playoffs, SEL Olympic games, Six Flags, etc.

Assists in organizing and executing the backpack and Christmas gift drives.

Assists the clothing consultant with organizing and conducting clothes fittings.

Assists with enrichment partnerships like Green Bronx, training, ordering supplies and materials.

Be available to be a substitute team leader, coach, or SAES at sites when the need arises.

Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience
-
B.A. or B.S. in related fields and equivalent experience
-
Experience in accounting and project management with a focus on budgeting, vendor contracts, and vendor relationships.

Extensive knowledge of Google Suite, Excel, Questica, PowerPoint.

Must have a valid driver's license, available transportation, and their own auto insurance in order to travel around the Chicagoland area.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopies and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. Regularly travels to other organizational sites for meetings and training.
