Pediatric Private Duty RN Job Overview

As a Private Duty Pediatric RN, you will provide specialized nursing care for a 2-year-old boy with:

• Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)
• Muscle hypertonicity
• Sympathetic storming

Key Responsibilities:

• Medical Monitoring & Interventions:
• Frequent suctioning and oxygen support (PRN and during sleep)
• NG tube pump feeding
• Respiratory therapies every four hours (CPT vest, cough assist, nebulizer treatments, humidification)
• Close visual monitoring for neurostorming episodes with rapid stat drops
• Pulse oximeter monitoring
• Comprehensive Patient Care:
• Full assistance with mobility, communication, transfers, and all activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Implement physician-directed care plans with precision and compassion
• Educate and support family members in managing complex medical needs
• Accurate Documentation & Compliance:
• Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR)
• Follow Oregon Nurse Practice Act and BrightStar Care policies

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted Oregon RN license
• Minimum one year of nursing experience (pediatric, ICU, NICU, PICU, or home health preferred)
• Trained in tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube care (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• Clear background check and drug screening
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
