Sames McAllen Ford is looking for an Apprentice Service Technician to join our growing service team. In this role, you’ll assist with maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while working alongside experienced senior technicians. We’re seeking candidates with a mechanical mindset, a strong work ethic, and the drive to develop their skills in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine maintenance and repair tasks as assigned on repair orders

• Assist in diagnosing vehicle systems including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, HVAC, brakes, and electrical components

• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to confirm issues and verify completed repairs

• Support senior technicians on complex repair work and warranty-related jobs

• Maintain accurate repair documentation and follow dealership and manufacturer guidelines

• Keep work area organized, clean, and safe

• Collaborate with Service Advisors and team members to ensure quality service and communication with customers

Requirements

• At least 1 year of prior automotive repair or service experience preferred

• ASE certification strongly preferred

• TSTC graduates welcomed!

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Ford or dealership background is a plus but not required

• Strong mechanical knowledge with troubleshooting ability

• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, scanners, and repair equipment

• Positive, team-oriented approach and willingness to learn

• Good computer skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
