THE ROLE

Contract Fitness Instructors play an integral role in developing and maintaining a world-class fitness & wellness program at Blake Street House.  Contractors are responsible for motivating, teaching, and inspiring BlakeSt Members and Guests in various areas of fitness and wellness.  Contractors represent multiple disciplines such as Pilates, Strength Training, Yoga, Functional Fitness, Barre, Meditation and Mindfulness, etc.

What we will ask of you:

• Adhere to regulatory and certification requirements depending on the discipline.
• Must possess all required insurance coverages.
• Accurately track classes taught and produce corresponding invoicing; report to BlakeSt Wellness leadership on a monthly basis.
• Be on time and maintain as much consistency as possible for all scheduled sessions.
• Enhance the BlakeSt Member experience.
• Possess thorough understanding and be able to clearly articulate fitness methods, class content, wellbeing offerings and BlakeSt events and happenings.
• Execute safe and effective fitness classes.
• Ensure fitness/wellness areas are well maintained and supplied, notifying management when necessary.
• Expertise in specific disciplines. 

Requirements for Success:

• At least 200 hours teaching and/or education in respective discipline
• Continuing Education credits from applicable entities such as: Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFFA)
• Degree in Exercise Science or Health Promotion preferred
• Experience with ClubAutomation or other scheduling software.
• Critical thinking skill- able to use logic and reasoning to find solutions to various challenges.
• Excellent multitasking skills; strong organizational ability, time management and detail orientation.
• Possess a compassionate teaching style, utilize a supportive, non-competitive approach to help BlakeSt Members and Guests meet their goal.
• Ability to individualize, provide modifications, and form checks to BlakeSt Members and Guests.
