Position Summary
The Automotive Finance Clerk supports the Finance and Insurance (F&I) department with accurate documentation, data entry, contract processing, and administrative duties related to vehicle sales and financing. This position works closely with customers, sales staff, lenders, and management to ensure all paperwork is complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain vehicle finance and lease documentation.
- Review customer paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and required signatures.
- Enter customer, vehicle, financing, and contract information into dealership systems.
- Assist the Finance Manager with loan and lease paperwork.
- Submit completed contracts and documentation to banks and financial institutions.
- Track funding status and follow up on outstanding or incomplete documents.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle sales, financing contracts, titles, and related documents.
- Verify customer information and ensure documents comply with dealership and lender requirements.
- Assist with DMV/title and registration paperwork as needed.
- Handle confidential customer and financial information professionally.
- Communicate with customers, lenders, insurance companies, and dealership personnel regarding documentation and financing requirements.
- File, scan, copy, and organize financial and sales documents.
- Assist with resolving funding or documentation discrepancies.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous automotive dealership, finance, accounting, or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent data-entry and computer skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with dealership management or F&I software is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive financing, titles, registrations, and contracts is preferred.
