The Accounting Associate assists in a variety of financial activities, projects and transactions for multiple business entities. This position must understand accounting concepts and position the necessary skills to communicate them efficiently.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in finance
OR
- 3-5 years finance/accounting experience
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles practices and policies
- QuickBooks experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
- Experience working in the hospitality industry preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounts payable processing to include entries and preparation of weekly check disbursements.
- Manages accounts receivable by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, track and provide follow up on delinquent accounts, and recording of transactions.
- Reconciliation of daily receipts.
- Processes monthly credit card statements, ensuring all transactions are accurate with supporting documentation.
- Responsible for end of month General Ledger (GL) processing to include bank reconciliations and interagency account reconciliations.
- Process and prepare information for accountants monthly and annually ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Responsible for creating financial reports and providing owners/directors monthly profit and loss statements by division.
- Provides requested reporting in an accurate, complete and timely manner regarding financial inquiries.
- Responsible for outside vendor maintenance, including current W9 information tracking and year end 1099 preparation.
- Stay current on all emergency procedures and acts accordingly.
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management
