The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the parts department's daily operations at the dealership. This includes managing inventory, ordering parts, supervising parts staff, and ensuring excellent customer service for both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of automotive parts and inventory management, and a commitment to operational efficiency and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the parts department, including staffing, budgeting, inventory control, and customer relations.

  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, and stocking of automotive parts to ensure a consistent and efficient supply chain.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular audits to minimize discrepancies and obsolescence.

  • Develop and implement procedures for efficient parts operations and customer service standards.

  • Collaborate with service and sales departments to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs and vehicle preparation.

  • Monitor and analyze parts sales, gross profit, and performance metrics, adjusting strategies to meet department goals.

  • Train, mentor, and schedule parts staff to maintain high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.

  • Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and delivery terms.

  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a high standard of service.

  • Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, safety standards, and manufacturer requirements.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in an automotive parts department, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.

  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, cataloging systems, and inventory management software.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Proficient in using dealership management systems (DMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.


Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced dealership environment.

  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting parts (up to 50 lbs).

  • Occasional extended hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on business needs.
