Position Summary:
PRN - Saturday Coverage
Shift: 8:30am - 5:00pm (2 - 4 Saturdays a month)
Compensation: $26 - $31/hour - based on years of experience
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing quality client care while maintaining a positive and effective level of interaction between staff members, clients, family members, and other healthcare professionals. Performs duties under the direction of the Occupational Therapist and administers treatment as directed.
Job duties:
- Applies physical therapy procedures to patients through use of therapeutic exercise, mechanical traction, therapeutic massage, compression, heat, cold, ultraviolet light, water (whirlpool), and electricity.
- Measures and fits walkers, canes, crutches, and wheelchair, and provides instructions on the use and care of these items.
- Provides instruction in transfers, activities of daily living, gait, pulmonary function, and the use and care of orthosis, prosthesis, and supportive devices.
- Performs measurements without interpretation for range of motion, gross muscle strength, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs.
- Modifies treatment program within the limits of the specific plan of care according to the residents’ needs and response. Reports changes to the supervisor in writing.
- Communicates with staff members and other healthcare professionals on resident’s status and care.
- Complies with OSHA standards and ensures the safety of residents in their care at all times.
- Adheres to infection control policies, professional therapeutic services, and Bethany Village standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Prepares, transmits, and maintains timely and accurate records to include the initial evaluation, progress notes, and attendance records.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information.
- Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current Ohio Physical Therapist Assistant License.
- At least three years experience; long-term health care setting preferred.
