Position Summary:

Full Time and Part Time available 

Shift: 5:30am - 2:00pm or 10:00am - 6:30pm

Monday - Friday and every other weekend

Compensation: $15.00-$18.00 per hour - Based on experience 

The ability to pass a drug test, including testing for marijuana.

    

 

Provide quality nutritional care to 330 residents through accurate and sanitary food preparation via tray service, and cleaning and sanitizing activities.  This position functions under strict Federal, State and local regulations, which must be learned and practiced. Treats each resident, guest and co-worker with dignity and respect. 

 

Job Duties:

  • Prepares menu items for all meals.
  • Prepares fruit/cheese trays and etc. for special functions and records the amount of each item used for billing purposes.
  • Performs all assembly positions for cooks on tray line.
  • Takes and records temperatures of all hot food items to be served on tray line and in the Memory Support area.
  • Substitutes menu items for residents on the tray line correctly using the most current “Exchange Lists for Meal Planning”.
  • Ensures cost containment through correct production, portioning, sanitary food handling.
  • Cooks food for and separates food items to go to Crescent Crossing and Courtyard park.
  • Uses equipment safely, reporting equipment problems promptly.
  • Covers, labels, dates and refrigerates all food prepared in advance of need.  Tempers food from freezer in refrigerator.
  • Washes all pots, pans and cooking utensils at the end of each shift and as needed during the shift.
  • Attends in-service meetings; shows measurably training effectiveness.
  • Follows nourishment service procedure for residents.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all work surfaces during and before leaving work.
  • Works for the best of the team as a whole (any position).
  • Cleans/sweeps/mops floor before end of shift in the absence of the Cleaner.
  • Wipes oven before end of shift.
  • Accurately records and communicates all information coming into the Department appropriately.
  • Communicates cordially with Departments as needed regarding resident diet.
  • Closing duties including putting away all perishables and critical food items. Lock refrigerators and storage areas, wiping down, sanitizing sinks, counters, turning off equipment, and return keys to the Village Center Receptionist.
  • Follows safety practices in the kitchen; agency and department policies as written.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information
  • Performs other duties as directed.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. The ability to read, follow directions and document as needed is necessary. Must be able to read small print such as on measuring containers and manometers.  Must be able to discriminate subtle color differences as in skin tones and packaging materials. The ability to pass a drug test, including testing for marijuana.

Minimum Experience: Previous experience in cooking desired.
