Title: Parts Manager
Reports to: Parts Director
The Warehouse Manager will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing, and dispatch of a wide variety of products. Ultimately the manager should ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly. We are looking for a working manager who can hop on a forklift as needed to help with the team as well, supports and assists overall company goals in relation to Parts Sales goals, provides excellent service for our internal and external customers. The Parts Advisor will also have the responsibility to assist customers over the phone or via email in a proficient and friendly manner.
Duties Responsibilities:
- Create Estimates for repair parts needed as requested by the Service Department, Retail & Wholesale Customers.
- Support Customers and Mechanics to assure they get the proper parts which they request.
- Provide advice on other parts which may be needed for the application which will be performed.
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
- Take necessary steps via paperwork or PC to maintain accurate inventory counts.
- Complete all paperwork.
- Assure parts are label correctly and packaged to prevent damage.
- Follow daily inventory control procedures and participate in inventory counts when needed.
- As needed assist internal customers who need parts pulled for work orders.
- Place stock orders utilizing the best practice criteria outlined by both Bentley and Vendors.
- Locate difficult part items through experience, observation, and available resources (computers and/or printed materials).
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick up.
- Notify the Shop Foreman and the customer that ordered parts have been received.
- Determine part availability and submit an emergency order(s) as required.
- Oversee receiving, shipping, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
- Produce reports and statistics regularly: IN/OUT status report, dead stock reports, etc.
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
- Keep current on new products and product updates.
- Return warranty items in a timely manner.
- Control quality by properly cleaning, identifying, and inspecting component parts prior to putting them into inventory.
- Pick up and deliver parts locally as required.
- Work closely with Bentley management to learn and to develop the best practices and procedures and find ways in which to increase productivity.
- Communicate with supervisors, parts department employees and other departments any issue related to performing the duties of this position.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
- Understand OSHA regulations as related to day-to-day operations of the Warehouse.
Skills:
- Proven work experience as a warehouse manager.
- Cycle counting / order checking.
- Expertise is warehouse management procedures and best practices.
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
- Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.
- Strong decision making and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be computer literate and have knowledge of spreadsheets.
