SCHEDULE:              7:30AM - 4:00PM - Mon - Friday

SALARY:                    $31.67+ DOE. Non-Exempt/Hourly

Bayview Community is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remodel Technician to help transform and maintain our high-end retirement living spaces. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced construction professional who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and creating beautiful, move-in-ready homes for residents.

In this position, you’ll work on apartment remodels, facility upgrades, and renovation projects including carpentry, cabinetry, drywall, painting, tile work, light plumbing and electrical, finish work, and more. We’re looking for someone who can manage multiple projects, lead and support team members, and deliver exceptional results with professionalism and care.

 

Other DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES that maybe required at Times:

REPAIRS:  receives and responds to work orders; performs repairs involving paint, drywall, carpentry,

 

FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS:  carries out or assists with building renovations including refurbishing apartments in preparation for the “move-in” of new residents, redecorating common areas, renovating space, and installing new equipment.

 

RESIDENT SATISFACTION:  solicits, receives and analyzes comments from residents and other customers relating to maintenance services; shares feedback from customers with other maintenance services staff for the purposes of passing on compliments and ensuring a team effort to satisfying customer requests and considering customer recommendations; modifies processes to increase resident satisfaction; provides residents with feedback as to how their requests and recommendations are being handled.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Knowledge and Skill

  • High school graduate or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
  • Prefer continuing education in subjects relating to building maintenance and/or construction.
  • Three to Five years’ experience in and/or construction trades combined with building maintenance experience..
  • Current Washington State driver’s license is desirable.
  • Must have a strong background and experience with construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret facility blue prints and mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous material and the use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Working knowledge of modes of transmission of infectious diseases, including blood-borne pathogens, and the practice of universal precautions.
  • Understands and respects Residents’ Rights.
  • Demonstrates patience; a genuine caring attitude toward the elderly, disabled persons, and children; flexibility; a positive outlook; the ability to focus on the strengths of other people; and a healthy sense of humor.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in all of the categories mentioned as Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools in a correct and safe manner.
