SUMMARY OF PURPOSE AND GOALS:

The Remodel Electrician Maintenance Technician is hands-on responsible for the remodel of high-end living units and facility improvements in the Bayview community. This person must have good construction knowledge of electrical high and low voltage, phone systems as well as good knowledge of materials within the construction trades. This person must be a team player and always willing to adjust the SOW when needed. They must have a good eye for high-end quality finish work with an understanding of design, needs and wants of the residents moving in as well as the facility improvements within the organization. This person ensures that proper functioning of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment, providing electricity for various purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and Skill

  • High school graduate or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
  • Prefer continuing education in subjects relating to building maintenance and/or construction.
  • Must have Journeyman Electrician’s Certification.
  • Three to Five years’ experience in and/or construction trades combined with building maintenance experience.
  • Current Washington State driver’s license is desirable.
  • Must have a strong background and experience with construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret facility blue prints and mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous material and the use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Working knowledge of modes of transmission of infectious diseases, including blood-borne pathogens, and the practice of universal precautions.
  • Understands and respects Residents’ Rights.
  • Demonstrates patience; a genuine caring attitude toward the elderly, disabled persons, and children; flexibility; a positive outlook; the ability to focus on the strengths of other people; and a healthy sense of humor.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in all of the categories mentioned as Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools in a correct and safe manner.
