Parts Counterperson

Bay Ridge Subaru, located on Cropsey Ave in Brooklyn, NY is looking to hire a responsible and friendly professional to join our team as a parts specialist.  The “right individual” will be courteous, outgoing and possess a strong penchant for keeping our customers completely satisfied. • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Converse effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and communicating to customers about specific parts.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers.
• Review body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
• Provide high level service to both internal and external customers.
• Fulfill online orders and body shop orders 
• Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
• Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
• check in parts and stock parts to their designated bins 
• responsible in keeping the work area clean 
• restock part bins 
• Deliver parts to customers or pick up parts when necessary to fill customers orders

Parts come different weights and sizes. Parts can range from 1- 350 lbs. You must be able to carry, lift  or move items daily with a pallet jack or hand truck when necessary   

• High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
• Reliable and dependable in arriving on time and demonstrating exceptional attendance   
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents
• Ability to calculate figures/amounts including; discounts
• Valid driver's license and CLEAN driving record over the age of 21 with a minimum of 3 years driving history
