Position Purpose (Summary)

The function of this position is to:

  • Monitor and implement company processes and procedures.
  • Provide support for technicians in the field and act as a conduit when needed to source additional information and resources to solve technical issues.
  • Provide individual coaching as needed to train technicians on the best ways to use company resources and sell systems to meet the customers’ needs.
  • Run weekly training meetings to cover:
    • KPI reviews
    • Performance acknowledgements and awards
    • New products
    • Safety Concerns
    • Product issues
    • Manufacturer’s Training
  • Act as a mentor to encourage individual growth.
  • Create and modify processes and procedures to add value to the company’s services or business results.

Service Manager Duties and Abilities

  1. Must have a good working knowledge of all products and services being offered.
  2. Continuously improve knowledge of construction and how the company operates to benefit customers through training from suppliers, trade shows, seminars, and independent study.
  3. Establish goals, KPIs, and objectives for technicians and customer service representatives, along with a plan of action to attain or exceed set goals.
  4. Regularly review and monitor progress towards established goals and provide weekly status updates to the owner on established goals, KPIs, and objectives.
  5. Provide corrective action and feedback to employees and inform termination decisions for individuals that do not meet company goals and expectations.
  6. Possess superior interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with associates, superiors, vendors, and customers.
  7. Be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications.
  8. Must be able to accurately list and order materials and supplies.
  9. Must be able to work under time and budgetary constraints and pressures.
  10. Computer literacy, especially with the use of smart phones, text messaging, and email.
  11. Must be capable of understanding customer needs and influencing their decision.
  12. Must recognize and avoid dangerous situations for themselves and service technicians.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
