Position Purpose (Summary)
The function of this position is to:
- Monitor and implement company processes and procedures.
- Provide support for technicians in the field and act as a conduit when needed to source additional information and resources to solve technical issues.
- Provide individual coaching as needed to train technicians on the best ways to use company resources and sell systems to meet the customers’ needs.
- Run weekly training meetings to cover:
- KPI reviews
- Performance acknowledgements and awards
- New products
- Safety Concerns
- Product issues
- Manufacturer’s Training
- Act as a mentor to encourage individual growth.
- Create and modify processes and procedures to add value to the company’s services or business results.
Service Manager Duties and Abilities
- Must have a good working knowledge of all products and services being offered.
- Continuously improve knowledge of construction and how the company operates to benefit customers through training from suppliers, trade shows, seminars, and independent study.
- Establish goals, KPIs, and objectives for technicians and customer service representatives, along with a plan of action to attain or exceed set goals.
- Regularly review and monitor progress towards established goals and provide weekly status updates to the owner on established goals, KPIs, and objectives.
- Provide corrective action and feedback to employees and inform termination decisions for individuals that do not meet company goals and expectations.
- Possess superior interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with associates, superiors, vendors, and customers.
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications.
- Must be able to accurately list and order materials and supplies.
- Must be able to work under time and budgetary constraints and pressures.
- Computer literacy, especially with the use of smart phones, text messaging, and email.
- Must be capable of understanding customer needs and influencing their decision.
- Must recognize and avoid dangerous situations for themselves and service technicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
