We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Counselor or Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, couples, or groups. The primary objective is to help clients identify, understand, and resolve personal, social, and psychological challenges through evidence-based practices. This role involves maintaining a consistent caseload and fostering a safe, non-judgmental environment for healing and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake interviews and clinical assessments to determine client needs and mental health status.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals and objectives.
- Facilitate individual, family, or group therapy sessions using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, or Solution-Focused Therapy.
- Perform ongoing clinical evaluations to monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
- Identify and manage crisis situations, including conducting suicide risk assessments and safety planning.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and treatment plan updates.
- Liaise with external healthcare providers, social services, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Ensure all clinical practices adhere to ethical guidelines, state laws, and HIPAA regulations regarding client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure to practice (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent). Associate-level licensees under supervision may be considered depending on experience.
- Proven experience in providing direct clinical services to a diverse population.
- Strong knowledge of the DSM-5-TR and various psychological assessment tools.
- Exceptional active listening, empathy, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Work Environment
This position is typically based in a private practice, community health center, or residential facility. It requires the emotional resilience to manage secondary trauma and the ability to maintain professional boundaries in a clinical setting.
