We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and pharmacological management for patients experiencing a range of mental health disorders. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to diagnose illnesses, prescribe medications, and monitor patient progress to improve overall mental well-being and functional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and review of medical history.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans involving medication management and therapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor and adjust medication dosages based on patient response, side effects, and laboratory results.
  • Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and primary care physicians to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for patients in acute psychiatric distress.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with medical and legal standards.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Psychiatry.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in General Psychiatry.
  • Current and unrestricted state medical license.
  • Valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Advanced knowledge of psychotropic medications and their interactions.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
Work Environment
This role may be based in an outpatient clinic, inpatient hospital, or residential treatment center. The position requires high emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain professional composure while managing complex clinical cases.
