Medical Surgical Telemetry RN (Oncology Focus) - Travel Position  
Location: Columbus, OH 
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 3x12s Rotating
Pay: $2129.40/week  
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)

Job Description:  

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to work on the 19 James unit, which primarily serves a specialized Oncology patient population. The majority of patients require continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy, symptom management, and management of comorbidities. While Oncology experience is preferred, it is NOT required. The role mandates strong Med/Tele skills, strict adherence to infection prevention protocols, and urgent compliance with the facility's fingerprinting process.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Delivers care to adult and geriatric patients with common diagnoses including Breast, Lung, Colon, Prostate, and Pancreatic Cancers, as well as Sickle Cell Crises.
• Manages patients admitted for Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration and symptom management.
• Possesses strong Telemetry skills, including Interpretation of dysrhythmias and managing associated equipment (GE Telemetry, B450 monitors).
• Performs advanced procedural support, including Accessing Ports, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Arterial line management, and Blood Product Administration.
• Provides respiratory support, including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and interpretation of ABGs.
• Maintains a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls within the 36-bed unit.
• REQUIRED to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Qualifications:  

• Valid Compact or Ohio RN license .
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Minimum 2 Years RN experience is REQUIRED. Previous travel experience is preferred.
• EPIC EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required. Flu Vaccine is REQUIRED (Medical Exemptions Only).
