Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Rhinelander, WI on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies. The ideal candidate is experienced in a fast-paced ED environment, highly adaptable, and able to respond effectively to critical situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Perform rapid assessments, triage patients, and prioritize care based on acuity.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver timely interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress, record assessments, and document care in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ED best practices.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in Wisconsin (or compact eligibility).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent emergency nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); TNCC preferred.
  • Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
