Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Rhinelander, WI on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, requiring advanced monitoring, rapid clinical decision-making, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, adaptable, and experienced in high-acuity ICU environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and continuous care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage complex IV therapies.
- Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team on patient treatment plans.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and recovery expectations.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ICU best practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in Wisconsin (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent ICU/critical care nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
