Occupational Therapist – LTC/SNF – Travel Position

Pay: $1,955/week
Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) in Abilene, TX on a 13-week travel assignment. The Occupational Therapist will provide rehabilitative services that help residents maximize independence in daily living, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life. The ideal candidate has prior LTC/SNF experience and is committed to delivering patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations to assess residents’ functional and cognitive abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to long-term care needs.
- Provide interventions such as ADL retraining, mobility programs, strengthening, and adaptive equipment use.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and safe practices.
- Document evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress notes accurately in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physical therapy, speech therapy, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Support independence, mobility, and quality of life through evidence-based OT practices.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid OT license in Texas (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 1 year of recent OT experience; LTC/SNF experience preferred.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong communication, documentation, and clinical reasoning skills.
- Compassionate and adaptable approach with experience treating geriatric and long-term care populations.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
