NICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position 

Location: Asheville, NC 

Job Type: Travel Contract   

Duration: 13 weeks  

Shift: 3x12s Nights 

Pay: $1851/week  

 

Job Description:  

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate NICU RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in caring for critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III or higher NICU and be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates. 

  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per physician orders and NICU protocols. 

  • Monitor vital signs, ventilator settings, and lab results, adjusting care plans as necessary. 

  • Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, family-centered care. 

  • Educate and support parents and families in newborn care, discharge planning, and ongoing health needs. 

  • Document patient care and interventions accurately using Cerner EHR. 

  • Participate in neonatal resuscitations and emergency interventions as needed. 

  • Float as required to Pediatrics, PICU, and Mother Baby (babies only) to support patient care needs. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing 

  • Current RN license in NC 

  • Must Have: Minimum 2 years of recent Level III or higher NICU experience (required; 2+ years preferred) 

  • Certifications Required: 

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) 

  • BLS (AHA) 

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
