Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Rhinelander, WI. The ICU Nurse will provide advanced care for critically ill patients, including those requiring ventilator support, complex medication management, and continuous monitoring. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and skilled in high-acuity patient care within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and continuous nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor vital signs, ventilators, and advanced hemodynamic parameters.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate complex care plans.
- Perform frequent assessments and adjust care based on changes in patient condition.
- Educate patients’ families about conditions, treatments, and post-care expectations.
- Document all assessments, treatments, and patient progress accurately and timely.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control, and evidence-based ICU practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin (or compact license).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
