Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join an inpatient rehabilitation unit in Morton, WA, on a travel contract. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery, focusing on improving independence in daily living skills and functional mobility. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced in inpatient rehab or acute care therapy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients’ functional abilities, cognitive skills, and therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary staff.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions focused on self-care, mobility, coordination, and adaptive techniques.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapy goals, safety practices, and use of adaptive equipment.
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately in compliance with facility standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, and speech therapy teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Promote safety, independence, and quality of life through evidence-based rehabilitation practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid Occupational Therapist license in Washington (or compact license).
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent OT experience in inpatient rehab or acute care.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Compassionate approach with experience supporting diverse adult patient populations.
