Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Sanford, NC. The Med Surg/Tele Nurse will care for patients with diverse medical needs while monitoring cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing patients with both acute medical and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced hospital setting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, monitoring, and implementation of physician-ordered treatments.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms via telemetry to detect and respond to changes.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes promptly in accordance with facility standards.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and provide interventions as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina (or compact license).
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred).
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Strong clinical judgment, monitoring, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage diverse patient populations in a busy hospital environment.
