Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00pm–7:30am; every other weekend)
Pay: $2,406.60/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

Travel RN needed for a high-acuity Telemetry Stroke/Stepdown-style unit in an acute care setting. This is a fast-paced unit with high patient turnover and complex cardiac and neuro patients. No first-time travelers accepted. Travelers are pre-screened prior to submission. Unit uses Cerner charting and Spacelabs monitoring with 24/7 monitor tech support. Nurses interpret their own strips. Stepdown-level experience is strongly preferred. No duos accepted.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide telemetry nursing care for high-acuity cardiac and stroke patients
• Manage stepdown-level patient assignments with 4:1 ratios
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and set alarm parameters
• Titrate heparin, amiodarone, and cardizem drips per protocol
• Care for stroke, CVA, TIA, post-cath, and post-neuro intervention patients
• Collaborate with monitor techs, RT, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams
• Document all care in Cerner
• Float to med-surg, other tele units, and ICU as assigned with appropriate patient acuity

Qualifications

• Active RN license required at submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Must have hands-on NIHSS experience on the floor
• Minimum recent telemetry experience required
• Stepdown experience strongly preferred
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Must meet weekend and floating requirements
• Chemo certification a plus but not required
