Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a travel assignment in Florence, South Carolina, supporting a high-volume Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This role is ideal for a CST with strong experience in open heart surgery and vascular procedures, who can confidently function in complex surgical environments.

The CST will work under the supervision of surgeons and the perioperative team to ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment. This position requires advanced technical skill, professionalism, and the ability to perform confidently in high-acuity surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe surgical environment.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment.
  • Assist surgeons during invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.
  • Perform instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
  • Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
  • Establish and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures.
  • Participate in surgical time-outs and patient/site verification.
  • Pass instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Handle and prepare specimens appropriately.
  • Assist with room turnover, terminal cleaning, and sterilization prep.
  • Ensure OR rooms are properly stocked and prepared.
  • Follow infection control, PPE, and safety standards.
  • Support team-based perioperative workflows and service excellence standards.

Qualifications

  • NBSTSA Certification REQUIRED (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
  • Strong experience in open heart surgery and vascular cases required.
  • Ability to perform confidently in CVOR environments.
  • Excellent sterile technique and OR safety practices.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and professionalism.
  • Ability to meet physical and clinical demands of the role.
