Pay: $2,320.20/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a high-flow, fast-paced PCU environment caring for mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients, with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges.
The RN will provide advanced intermediate-level care, manage titratable drips, monitor cardiac rhythms, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in an acute care setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic unit with high patient turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct PCU-level nursing care.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry.
- Manage and titrate drips, including:
- Heparin
- Octreotide
- Insulin
- Maintenance IV medications (non-titratable)
- Respond to rapid changes in patient condition.
- Participate in code and emergency response teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Float to Med/Surg and other appropriate units as needed (including ICU/ED for appropriate patient types).
Qualifications
- Active Nebraska RN license (required at submission).
- Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Recent PCU/stepdown/telemetry experience required.
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.
- Ability to manage titratable drips and high-acuity patients.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
