Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)
Location: Oxnard, CA
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4x10 Days
Pay: $3,046 /week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Summary:
The Wound Care Registered Nurse specializes in assessing, treating, and managing patients with acute, chronic, and complex wounds. This role involves implementing evidence-based wound care protocols, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and educating patients and caregivers on wound prevention and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including size, depth, and tissue type.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans based on physician orders and best practices.
- Apply advanced wound care treatments (e.g., negative pressure therapy, specialty dressings).
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families on wound care techniques, infection prevention, and nutrition for healing.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and facility protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
- Licensure: Current RN license in [State].
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, or similar) – Preferred
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of wound care or related clinical experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of wound healing physiology and treatment modalities.
- Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and patient education abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weight for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for dressing changes and wound care procedures.
