Shift: 3×12 Nights (weekends required; float to main campus as needed)
Pay: $2,016/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a large academic medical center in Columbus, OH. The therapist will support adult and geriatric patients across med-surg units, PCU, step-down, and emergency/critical care environments. This role requires a clinician comfortable with independent decision-making, rapid assessments, and managing ventilator-dependent and acutely deteriorating patients.

No RTO allowed from 2/22–2/28.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as COPD, asthma, cancer, pneumonia, and acute respiratory failure.
• Operate, manage, and troubleshoot GE ventilators (preferred: GE 860) and related respiratory care equipment.
• Administer aerosol therapies, bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, racemic epinephrine, and other ordered respiratory medications.
• Initiate, monitor, and wean patients from mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, and other oxygenation modalities.
• Perform airway management tasks including oral/nasal suctioning, airway placement, trach care, and extubation support.
• Interpret ABGs and adjust therapy based on clinical presentation and physician direction.
• Respond to emergencies and rapid response calls as part of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Support respiratory care throughout med-surg, PCU, ED, and other units as assigned.
• Document all care accurately in EPIC.
• Float to affiliated East Hospital campus when required.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; CRT accepted.
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC).
• Ohio state Respiratory Care license.
• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience.
• Previous travel experience preferred.
• High school diploma required.
• Strong skills with GE ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, inhaled medication administration, and ventilator weaning.
• Must meet all compliance requirements, including fingerprint deadlines and facility onboarding timelines.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
