Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Position Overview

ATC Healthcare is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 13-week travel assignment in Salinas, California. The SLP will evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in an acute care or inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate is flexible, clinically proficient across adult populations, and comfortable collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support strong patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing impairments.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and clinical assessment findings.
  • Provide therapy for dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, cognitive-linguistic deficits, and other related disorders.
  • Perform bedside swallow evaluations (BSE) and provide safe diet recommendations.
  • Document assessments, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge plans accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies and swallowing precautions.
  • Participate in care team meetings, interdisciplinary rounds, and discharge planning processes.
  • Ensure adherence to facility protocols, therapy standards, and best-practice guidelines.
  • Maintain professional communication and collaborate effectively with nursing, physicians, OT/PT, and case management teams.

Qualifications

  • Active California SLP license (required).
  • Minimum 1 year of recent SLP experience (acute care or inpatient preferred).
  • BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
  • Strong clinical skills in dysphagia management and cognitive-linguistic therapy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a full caseload.
  • Must complete all required compliance, health, and background screenings.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
