Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Days
Pay: $2300.40/week
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 33-bed unit within a Level II Trauma Center. The ideal candidate must be adept at managing complex, high-acuity patients, proficient in reading/interpreting cardiac monitor strips, and experienced with titrating critical care drips. Flexibility with scheduling and floating is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages care for adults with diverse and complex diagnoses, including Trauma, Cardiac, Overdose/Substance Abuse, Sepsis, Stroke, and Respiratory Distress/Failure.
- Maintains a primary Nurse:Patient ratio of 1:2–3.
- Titrates critical care drips, including any cardiac drip, insulin, and sedation, per physician orders and parameters.
- Reads, interprets, and documents Telemetry strips (GE monitors), supported by Tele Tech oversight.
- Manages respiratory support equipment, ranging from Nasal Cannula to Vents, and performs necessary trouble-shooting.
- Floats as required, typically to PCU (ratio 1:4) or occasionally to Med/Surg (ratio 1:5).
- Adheres to the facility's strict no artificial nails policy.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of Nebraska.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications are REQUIRED.
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience is expected for this high-acuity setting.
- Driver's license required at submittal (used to verify residence is outside the 50-mile radius).
- COVID vaccine and recent TB test are required.
