Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5×8 Days)
Pay: $2,424/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse for a travel assignment at a community-based cancer center. This role focuses on providing infusion therapy to oncology patients in an ambulatory setting. The RN will manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hydration, and supportive treatments in a 15-chair infusion suite while delivering safe, compassionate care to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide infusion therapy for oncology patients, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medication infusions
  • Perform venous access, port access, and IV initiation; manage infusion pumps (Hospira)
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and titrate infusions as needed (rare)
  • Deliver patient education, emotional support, and ongoing treatment guidance
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic EMR
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and clinical support staff
  • Follow oncology infusion protocols and safety standards
  • Float to sister facilities as needed
  • Participate in oncology-specific orientation upon start

Qualifications

  • Active Washington RN license or Compact State RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN not required)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent chemotherapy infusion experience (required)
  • Chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification (required)
  • OCN certification preferred but not required
  • BLS (required)
  • Experience caring for oncology patient populations (breast, lung, and multiple cancer diagnoses)
  • Strong venous access skills and familiarity with infusion pumps (Hospira)
  • Ability to manage a caseload of 5–6 infusion patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient support skills
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
