Location: Asheville, NC
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: 3x12 Days
Pay: $2,444.40/week + $2,500 completion bonus per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a high-acuity hospital setting. This nurse will support laboring patients, high-risk pregnancies, and immediate postpartum care. Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, newborn stabilization, and patient education. The environment is fast-paced with diverse OB procedures and multidisciplinary coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum mother/baby care
  • Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret EFM tracings
  • Assist with and circulate for cesarean sections and other OB procedures
  • Stabilize and provide immediate care to newborns
  • Administer medications including oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and epidural support
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia)
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and support staff
  • Educate mothers and families on postpartum and newborn care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety standards

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Compact accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience
  • High-risk L&D experience required
  • Immediate newborn care required
  • Circulating experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring required
  • Must be comfortable floating to related women’s services units as needed (MOB/NICU/MFM)
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required
