Pay: $2,412/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides direct, high-acuity care to patients of all ages in a Level III Trauma Center setting. This role is responsible for the rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization of patients presenting with medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies. The RN ensures safe, timely, and evidence-based care delivery in compliance with hospital protocols and professional nursing standards.

The nurse will manage a range of patient conditions including cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and neurological emergencies, while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct emergency care and triage for patients across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatric populations.
  • Administer medications, titrate IV drips, and manage ventilated patients.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document interventions accurately in the MedHost EMR system.
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
  • Participate in trauma activations, code response, and rapid response events.
  • Maintain readiness of emergency equipment, including defibrillators and airway management tools.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring compassionate and culturally sensitive care.
  • Supervise and precept other nursing personnel as assigned.
  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated, efficient patient flow and care.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (MO or Compact)
  • Minimum 1+ years of Emergency Department RN experience in a hospital setting
  • At least two previously completed travel assignments required
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC required
  • Strong experience in drip titration and ventilator management required
  • Preceptor or charge experience preferred
  • EMR proficiency required (MedHost experience preferred)
  • Must be able to work variable mid shifts (1 PM–1 AM) and weekends as assigned
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required
