Pay Rate: $2,185.20/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

A healthcare facility in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced and adaptable Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract. The ER RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients presenting with a wide range of emergency medical conditions. Candidates must hold a New York RN license in hand at the time of submission and be available for November start and holiday coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients in a high-volume ED environment.

• Triage, assess, and stabilize patients with life-threatening and non-life-threatening conditions.

• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per physician orders and protocols.

• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the rapid response team to ensure timely interventions.

• Operate and monitor emergency and life-support equipment including defibrillators, cardiac monitors, and ventilators.

• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic EHR.

• Maintain adherence to infection control, patient safety, and trauma protocols.

• Float to other emergency units as needed within scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active New York State RN license (must be in hand prior to submission).

• Certifications:

  • Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA)

  • Preferred: PALS, TNCC

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong triage and trauma management abilities.

  • Proficiency with ventilated patients, IV vasopressors, dysrhythmia management, and procedural sedation.

  • Knowledge of STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility protocols.

  • Must have Epic charting experience (hard requirement).

• Work Requirements:

  • Must be available every other weekend (EOW) and for holiday shifts.

  • First-time travelers accepted.

  • Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of Rochester General Hospital.
