Pay: $2,037.60/week (plus $2,480 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,440 after three contracts)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care, including executing Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) orders, administering medications, and assisting with examinations and treatments. The RN applies nursing and supervisory skills in the care and management of inmates/residents and performs all technical and clinical procedures within the scope of licensure.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.

• Attend sick calls with physicians; prepare exam rooms and necessary equipment.

• Administer medications and document per facility policy.

• Respond to emergencies, contacting LIPs for orders when necessary.

• Examine and assess inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries; refer to appropriate medical facilities as needed.

• Supervise and monitor care provided by LVNs/LPNs and non-licensed staff.

• Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records and equipment.

• Conduct health education and counseling sessions.

• Maintain compliance with corporate, facility, and correctional policies.

• Evaluate and document medical services to prevent duplication or inappropriate use.

• Participate in audits and ensure proper medication management, especially controlled substances.

• Assist with medical file reviews and accreditation requirements (NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO).

• Participate in safety inspections and emergency response activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (degree or diploma).

• Current RN license in the state of employment.

• Certifications: BLS required.

• Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience preferred.

• Valid driver’s license required.
