Pay: $2,138.40/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

The Pediatric Emergency Department RN provides high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric patients experiencing acute and emergent conditions. This position requires strong assessment skills, quick clinical judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to changing patient conditions in a Level I trauma environment. Nurses may occasionally float to pediatric admission floors as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver skilled nursing care to pediatric patients requiring emergency treatment and stabilization.
  • Perform triage, initial assessments, and prioritize care in accordance with acuity.
  • Administer medications, initiate IV access, perform phlebotomy, and interpret 12-lead EKGs and cardiac dysrhythmias.
  • Manage pediatric emergencies including trauma, respiratory distress, and resuscitation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, and social services to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate and timely documentation.
  • Support pediatric admissions and maintain flexibility to float to pediatric inpatient units as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (compact or state-specific).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric emergency experience.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and ENPC required (TNCC not accepted in place of ENPC).
  • Strong skills in pediatric triage, dosage calculations, airway management, and IV therapy.
  • Previous Level I trauma and travel experience preferred.
  • Must be available for weekend rotations and flexible scheduling.
  • No locals within 75 miles; COVID vaccination required (exemptions accepted with documentation).
