Pay: $2,170.80/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse to join a healthcare facility for a 16-week travel assignment in Springfield, TN. This role is perfect for a highly skilled and independent nurse with strong Level 2 experience and postpartum expertise. The unit supports a wide range of newborn and maternal care, including care for preterm babies, NAS infants, and more, with the support of a 24/7 in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–1:6.

  • Perform and assist with procedures including lumbar punctures, circumcisions, IV medication administration, and support for NPs during specialized procedures.

  • Care for newborns with special needs including phototherapy, bubble CPAP, tube feeding, NAS monitoring, and glucose management.

  • Initiate and manage IVs, assess patient conditions, and respond to obstetric emergencies.

  • Utilize GE Monitors and CPN documentation system for accurate charting.

  • Coordinate care with physicians, NNPs, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in Tennessee (or compact eligible)

  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Level 2 Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care

  • Advanced clinical skills in:

    • IV initiation

    • Phototherapy

    • Bubble CPAP maintenance

    • Tube feeding

    • NAS and glucose management

    • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)

  • Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced, low-staffed environment

  • COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required
