Pay: $2,199.60/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) / Blood Cancer Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Webster, Texas. This specialized unit provides care for patients undergoing bone marrow and stem cell transplants as well as those receiving chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments for hematologic malignancies.

The RN will deliver high-acuity nursing care, monitor telemetry, administer chemotherapy and blood products, and collaborate closely with hematologists and oncologists to support patients through complex and intensive treatment plans. Compassion, precision, and adherence to safety standards are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients undergoing bone marrow and stem cell transplants or receiving chemotherapy and biotherapy for blood cancers.
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood transfusions safely and in compliance with ONS standards and facility protocols.
• Monitor telemetry, perform ongoing assessments, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Manage complications related to chemotherapy, transplant recovery, and immunosuppression.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in the Meditech EMR system.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication regimens, and infection prevention.
• Maintain a sterile and safe environment to protect immunocompromised patients.
• Float as needed to medical-surgical units within the facility.
• Work rotating weekends as part of the regular schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license or Compact State license (required).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Bone Marrow Transplant, Oncology, or Hematology nursing experience (required).
• Certifications:
  • BLS (required)
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (required)
  • ACLS and ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification (preferred)
• Proficiency in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration and post-transplant care.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage 4:1 patient ratios in an 8-bed unit environment.
• Must wear royal blue scrubs per department dress code.
• Compassionate, resilient, and collaborative personality with excellent attention to detail.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
