Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) with $7500 Bonus

Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position  
Location: Lander, WY 
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 3x12s Nights 
Pay: $2428.20/week  
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)

Job Description:  

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive, individualized nursing care. This critical role involves applying scientific nursing principles to manage a diverse patient load, including both general medical patients and pre/post-operative surgical cases. The Med/Surg RN is responsible for direct patient care, medication administration, rapid symptom interpretation, and patient education, utilizing strong time management skills to ensure efficient and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Plan and provide individualized nursing care, executing Licensed Independent Provider's orders, dispensing, and administering medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV).
• Record patient medical information and vital signs. Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording electronic displays. Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.
• Provide bedside care, change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs. Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment.
• Initiate and execute the patient education plan prescribed by the physician. Teach patients and significant others post-treatment home care needs. Actively participate in discharge planning.
• Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol (requires ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification).
• Must be prepared to float between the Lander and Riverton campuses depending on facility census. Must also be willing to occasionally care for pediatric/adolescent patients as the facility does not have a dedicated pediatrics unit.

Qualifications:  

• Active RN license in Wyoming.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Med Surg nursing experience.
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test are required.
